Who are 'we'??

 

My name is Peggy, and I'm the owner of Medieval Mantles, a home-based business nestled in beautiful Calgary Alberta Canada.

 

I've been sewing all my life... my first project was a shirt for my doll when I was 8 yrs old.  I still have it and the doll!

 

By the time I was in high school, I was making business suits and prom dresses. 

 

As mother of four daughters, I found myself sewing dresses for them, and matching outfits for their dolls. 

 

Medieval Mantles came to life in 2002 when I was asked to make a cloak for a friend, and another friend asked me to make a bunch of small velvet bags for mojo bags.  I made and sold a few cloaks, but found it very hard to make such large things in the small area I have for sewing, so I now content myself with making unique bags, primarily for Tarot Decks

and now little TUTUS and various Dangly Doo-Dads!!

Even though I can make several of the same fabric, each item will be different, as all my bags and tutus are handmade, and I try to vary beads, accents, ribbon and cording.  Many times, your choice will be constructed after you make your purchase, as I would rather make it 'with you in mind'.

 

Even though I am the only designer, seamstress and creator for Medieval Mantles, I use the term 'we' throughout this website as my family contributes so much to the success of the business.  My daughters are constantly giving me ideas and guidance, and my eight grandkids inspire  the children's bags.  Daughters and grandkids alike are test markets for endurance features and use-ability. Even my son-in-law puts in his time dropping off shipments on his way to and from work!
